Member Service Representative full-time
Niverville Credit Union

Niverville Credit Union, with branches in Niverville, Landmark and Steinbach, serves over 9,700 members throughout Southeastern Manitoba and has approximately $510 million in assets under administration. We have a staff complement of over 40 employees spread over 3 Branches. 

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Member Service Representative position for our Niverville branch with the expectation of floating to the other branches on business needs.  Availability to work on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays is required.

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Supervisor, Member Services, the Member Service Representative follows a program of education and skills development to acquire products and services knowledge and member service skills to accurately and efficiently provide transactional service to all members.  This position contributes to the overall member service experience that is consistent with Niverville Credit Union’s Vision, Mission and Values. The Member Service Representative responsibilities include answering members’ questions regarding credit union products and services and referring those members requiring additional advice or assistance to other specialists within the credit union.

KEY COMPONTENTS

  • Providing transactional service to members with accuracy, open and closing of memberships and handling cash
  • Soliciting new members and contributing to overall business development through service excellence, product knowledge and quality referrals. Contributing to the achievement of branch sales and service targets and marketing plans.
  • Maintaining confidentiality when dealing with transactions, ensuring that member information is kept private and secure.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The competencies for this position would require a minimum grade twelve diploma, previous banking experience and experience in working with the public is preferred, but not required.  Sales and Service experience along with basic computer application skills are an asset.

CONSUMER LENDER – Niverville Credit Union Ltd.

An exciting opportunity awaits!

We currently have an opportunity for a Consumer Lender to join our team at our Niverville Branch.  As a Consumer Lender, you will provide lending services to current and potential members. You’ll assess member needs and promote and cross-sell all credit union products and services to members, while ensuring all assigned lending activities are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews in person or using various communication methods with current and potential members to identify lending needs
  • Analyze, and adjudicate applications for Mortgages, Loans and Lines of Credit based on character, capacity and collateral to assess credit worthiness
  • Respond to members' inquiries on lending services & resolve routine member concerns in relation to lending services
  • Refer cross-sell opportunities to other departments within the Credit Union
  • Adhere to legislation and security procedures as they pertain to the position

 Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in business and/or 2 to 5 years of lending experience, or 5 years sales experience preferably in a financial institution
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, judgment and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated prioritization, organization, time management, planning and follow-up skills

Niverville Credit Union

Jr. Compliance Administrator

Niverville Credit Union, with branches in Niverville, Landmark, and Steinbach, serves over 9,500 members throughout Southeastern Manitoba and has approximately $500 million in assets under administration.

The Position


Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, the Jr. Compliance Administrator will support the AML Compliance Officer by ensuring the credit union’s AML compliance policies are being implemented, fraud management and monitoring, as well as guiding staff as it relates to areas of AML compliance and risk.  The qualified candidate will work closely with the AML Compliance Officer.

 

Some of the key functions of the position are as follows:


1)       Review existing member records as part of ongoing monitoring program.

2)       Audit new membership files to ensure compliance with current regulatory requirements.

3)       Monitor member activity flagged by staff or monitoring software (Verafin) for activity that may be fraudulent and/or reportable to FINTRAC.

4)       Prepare reports for submission to FINTRAC via monitoring software (Verafin).

5)       Maintains familiarity with current applicable legislation, such as reporting requirements to FINTRAC.

6)       Investigating EFM Fraud alerts and communicating with members.

7)       Assist AML Compliance Officer as required.

The ideal candidate must possess attention to detail, knowledge of basic Anti Money Laundering principles, ability to interpret government regulations and guidelines, and keen investigative skills. Prior credit union experience would be considered an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and organizational skills are also a requirement of this position.

This is a full-time permanent position.
