Finance Manager

Niverville Credit Union, with branches in Niverville, Landmark, and Steinbach, serves over 9000 members throughout Southeastern Manitoba.   Our vision is to be a neighbourly, people-focused and financially successful credit union.

Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the finance function of Niverville Credit Union.  Some of the key functions of the position are as follows:

  • Lead the finance department of the credit union
  • Provide technical direction on all areas of financial accounting, financial analysis and financial management including asset/liability management
  • Lead the preparation of the annual corporate budget and the financial forecasts for the credit union.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for monthly and quarterly financial statements, audited financial statements and regulatory reports.
  • Oversee accounts payable
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis to assist in areas such as investment decisions.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the legislative and regulatory requirements of the credit union.
  • Participate in the design, maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures.

 

The ideal candidate must possess a Canadian professional accounting designation and have demonstrated leadership abilities in a prior work or volunteer role.  Prior credit union experience would be considered an asset, but not essential.  Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and organizational skills are also a requirement of this position.

Member Service Representative full-time
Niverville Credit Union

Niverville Credit Union, with branches in Niverville, Landmark and Steinbach, serves over 9,700 members throughout Southeastern Manitoba and has approximately $510 million in assets under administration. We have a staff complement of over 40 employees spread over 3 Branches. 

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Member Service Representative position for our Niverville branch with the expectation of floating to the other branches on business needs.  Availability to work on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays is required.

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Supervisor, Member Services, the Member Service Representative follows a program of education and skills development to acquire products and services knowledge and member service skills to accurately and efficiently provide transactional service to all members.  This position contributes to the overall member service experience that is consistent with Niverville Credit Union’s Vision, Mission and Values. The Member Service Representative responsibilities include answering members’ questions regarding credit union products and services and referring those members requiring additional advice or assistance to other specialists within the credit union.

KEY COMPONTENTS

  • Providing transactional service to members with accuracy, open and closing of memberships and handling cash
  • Soliciting new members and contributing to overall business development through service excellence, product knowledge and quality referrals. Contributing to the achievement of branch sales and service targets and marketing plans.
  • Maintaining confidentiality when dealing with transactions, ensuring that member information is kept private and secure.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The competencies for this position would require a minimum grade twelve diploma, previous banking experience and experience in working with the public is preferred.  Sales and Service experience along with basic computer application skills are also required.

NIVERVILLE CREDIT UNION

Receptionist Full Time - Niverville Location

Niverville Credit Union, with branches in Niverville, Steinbach and Landmark, serves over 9,700 members and has over $510 million in assets under administration. We have a staff complement of over 40 employees spread over 3 Branches. The position is full-time hours, located out of the Niverville Branch.  Ideally the candidate would start on May 26, 2025.

The Position:

We are seeking a team player with a strong service focus, a high level of accuracy and an ability to offer products and services to assist members in meeting their financial goals.

Reporting to The Member Service Supervisor, the Reception duties include assisting members coming to the branch. This involves opening accounts, making appointments, answering phone calls and emails, updating exchange rates, receiving and recording mail, updating insurance policies, assisting tenants of Niverville Place Apartments, and any other duties as assigned.  The position emphasizes creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all members.  Ability to work Wednesday evenings and Saturdays is required. 

  1. Member Service: Works to assist members as they come into the branch and answers incoming member calls and email inquires, making appointments and routing calls.  Helps to make appointments for members with lending and investment departments.  Works with members to open personal subaccounts, set up debit cards and online banking.
  1. Administrative Support: Works with getting mail, including courier packages, recording and disbursing all to appropriate departments or individuals.  Works to check the Niverville Place rent payments, collects laundry money and fields concerns and requests from residents.  Other administrative work includes updating Insurance Policies, Foreign Exchange on DNA, website and display boards.
  1. Compliance: Participate in compliance training applicable to the position and ensure that all tasks performed comply with Niverville Credit Union policies and procedures.

 Qualifications and experience that would be an asset, but not a requirement:

  • 1 year of job-related experience with High School diploma
  • Practical knowledge and experience in Administration and/ or Customer Service are an asset
  • Working understanding of Credit Union services, philosophies and principles
